Deal to Strengthen Inventory and Expand Reach Throughout the Northeast

March 18, 2015 (WARWICK, R.I.) — Automotive aftermarket distributor Racer’s Equipment Warehouse this week announced its acquisition by National Performance Warehouse (NPW), a North American distributor with locations in Florida, California and Ontario, Canada. The deal will allow NPW to penetrate the desirable Northeast market, where Racer’s has built an impressive reputation over its 48 years in operation.

“This acquisition is truly a home run for our customers,” said Ralph Accinno, owner of Racer’s Equipment Warehouse. “They’ll benefit from National’s extensive inventory while continuing to deal with all the same people at Racer’s.”

Accinno himself plans to stay on during the transition, after which he plans to enjoy spending time with family. The Racer’s owner, who started selling at age 16 and grew his warehouse from a regional player to more national prominence, is particularly proud of the relationships his company has built while remaining an independent distributor.

“I grew up in this industry,” he said, “and I’m thankful to all the employees, customers and manufacturers who have made this ride so wonderful. I would never have made it this far without them.”

Racer’s and NPW are a natural fit on many levels, including their shared participation with The AAM Group, the largest distribution cooperative in the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) marketplace. Maintaining national brands such as Parts Pro and Total Truck Centers, The AAM Group helps local aftermarket retailers achieve success through a variety of proven marketing tools.

Parts Pro and Total Truck Centers offer programs like the Digital Marketplace, a website-building service that gets retailers found in their local markets; the Digital Showcase, a mobile product catalog with product information, year/make/model lookup and application fitment; the Insight mobile app, which offers a MAP-linked pricing calculator; and a mixture of print and electronic sales aids.
